Apple Wine

Introduction: Medium dry. Made from fresh locally grown apples to create this exquisite fruity full-of-character yet low in alcohol Country wine. Source your organic apples from our neighbouring grower who sells the fruit that supermarkets reject as either too small, too large or because it has some cosmetic blemish on it. To make this wine, add a proper wine yeast. Take care that the apple wine stays fresh, so that you can smell and taste the fresh apples in the wine.
This is a wine for lunch time drinking, or for those who prefer light wines. This wine has just 8% vol alcohol. Drinks well with many foods, especially lighter lunch time meals. The alcohol level is kept below 8.5% vol.
Ingredients
5 kgs. Apples
1/2 kg. of white granulated Sugar or until Specific Gravity is 1.085.
Enough water to make 5 liters.
1 tsp. Acid Blend Powder
1 tsp. Nutrient Powder
tsp. Pectic Enzyme Powder
tsp. Tannin Powder
tsp. Anti Oxidant Powder
Yeast Suggestions: D 47 or Champagne Yeast
Starting Specific Gravity of 1.085 for an 11% Alcohol by Volume Potential. Fruit Acid should be 0.5% to 0.6%
